Ivan Chuikov was born in1935 in Moscow, to a family of a prominent Soviet artist Semyon Chuikov.
He moved to Germany in 1990.
Lives and works in Düsseldorf and Moscow.
In the early 1970s, he joined the unofficial art movement in the Soviet Union and developed his own version of Conceptualism.
His works were sold at such auctions as Sotheby’s, Phillips, and Hapsburg/Feldman.
Ivan Chuikov participated in such major world art event as Venice Biennial and has been exhibited in Musee d’Art Moderne, Centre Georges Pompidou, Museum fur Gegenwartskunst, Basel, Kunstmuseum, Bern, Kunstmuseum, Lucerne, Museum Stedelijk of Modern Art, Amsterdam, Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Art, Ridgefield, Setagaya Art Museum, Tokyo, and State Tretyakov Gallery, Moscow
